Relesed in Februay 2011 House Of Cards represent the debut album for Cam Jazz.

An immaginative jorney where Fulvio describe in music the fragility of everybody present equilibrium. The poetic vision of the sunshine illuminates mechanic lifes that are organized for all of us by political puppets . And again the pleasure of a bisquit , a rose that grows in the desert , the hope , the serenity infused in you by your favorite place on hearth. The demon you found in a book and keep following you. Dreams and nightmers that disappears in the morning like a House of Cards.

Recorded in the prestigious Bauer Studios in Ludwigsburg (Germany), “Through The Journey” is an album that is atypical, lyrical and enchanting. A meeting of two musicians who seem to have known each other forever: their instruments speak and listen to one another, completely improvising and giving life to moments that don’t seem created impromptu, but instead note after note they are structured and take on shapes that are defined and flowing. With this album the two musicians seem to say “less is more”, searching for the perfect sound, and emphasizing the silence without seeking unnecessary sensationalism or music exercises that show off both of their techniques, qualities that they’ve been able make recognizable for a long time now.

A special modern CD, disconcerting at times, “SPL”, the new work by trumpet player, Fulvio Sigurtà, with Andrea Lombardini on electric bass guitar and Alessandro Paternesi on drums, is a surprise, track after track. Sounds studied in the minimum detail, atmospheres suspended in time, a merging of genres, with a rock soul peeping out among the tracks. The leader’s trumpet moves deftly among the full-bodied notes of the commanding rhythmic section, allowing itself experimental excursions. That’s what we find in “Aliasing Memories”, a piece written and thought out for the instrument, but distorted, as if it were an electric guitar.

A mature, decisive, complex CD. Sigurtà’s trio is joined by two exceptional guests: Ross Stanley on the Hammond organ and Michele Rabbia on percussion (and electronics), who endorse the track “Fruity Fly Brain” together. Almost all of the other SPL compositions were fruit of the creativity of the leader, apart from two, written by Lombardini, and “Polly Come Home” by Gene Clark (The Byrds). From the first track, “Like A Bird, Like Your Cage” to the last “In The Moment”, “SPL” explores the new expressive potentials and frontiers of jazz with curiosity and intelligence.

Sigurta`/ Casagrande  “Conversations”

Conversations” is the first CD from the partnership of Sigurta & Casagrande on trumpet and guitar respectively. Sigurta & Casagrande met in Boston, 2003, where both studied jazz at the Berklee College of Music .Their sound draws on classical and jazz influences. Written parts and improvisation blend seamlessly. The result is an intimate and artful music. An immensely talented musician, Fulvio is a trumpet player in demand not only in the UK but also in his native Italy. He has played with some of the best names on the Italian jazz scene like Gianluigi Trovesi and is a member of the ECM artist Gianni Coscias’s quartet. He has also just featured on a recording date with Keith Tippett here in the UK.In 2007 Federico Casagrande won the first prize at the Gibson Montreux Jazz Festival Guitar Competition with George Benson as president of the jury. He leads his own trio and is co-leader of a quartet with Portugese vibraphonist Jeff Davis.Tracks from Conversations have already made it on to the play lists of RAI Radio 3 in Italy and here in the UK Sigurta has already caught the ear of the press. “Fulvio Sigurtà is outstanding on trumpet and flugel.”John L Walters in The Guardian

GIOVANNI GUIDI & THE UNKNOWN REBEL BAND

Powerful notes played without restraint to celebrate the significance of freedom and those who fought for it.

"A suite dedicated to rebellious women and men, whose names remain unknown. Rebels of a different time, from different parts of the world. A composition where the voices of anonymous women and men can emerge from silence, defining them and, at the same time, uniting them in a chorus for the same ideals that marked their lives. The "Unknown Rebel" suite represents them, and us and all of those people whose commitment to the future is a passion." (Giovanni Guidi)

The Rhythmagic Orchestra

The African Mailman: The Rhythmagic Orchestra is an All-star project featuring members of the Nostalgia 77 Octet, the Plumstead Radical Club, the Alex Wilson Band, Jazz Jamaica and Ska Cubano - between them they’ve played with innumerable Jazz and Latin greats, and have the chops to prove it!

Paying tribute to the giants of Afro-Cuban jazz like Dizzy Gillespie, Chano Pozo and Machito, the orchestra’s first 12″ release sees the band work their magic on some Jazz Dance classics and forgotten masterpieces - timeless grooves that are proving a hit on jazz dancefloors the world over!

Examples of Twelves - The Way Things Are

Indebted to greats such as Sun Ra, Mingus, Neil Ardley and Mike Westbrook, Examples of Twelves are a band-headed by Nostalgia 77 bassist Riaan Vosloo. Collectively, the players have a wealth of experience both live and on record, with the Examples of Twelves sets seeing some of their most personal and adventurous work to date.

In demand for their mixture of new material and re-arrangements of both standards and cult club jazz tracks, the group are unique in their ability to switch between deep, Mingus-esque workouts and uptempo swinging grooves that have proved a hit at numerous Jazz sessions in and around London.

With the release of new record “the way things are” the band is moving into the realm of electronics and realtime sonic manipulation.

Jeb Loy Nichols

Strange faith and practice

"The intensity is spot on. The echoes of jazz allow free rein to a new breath, a kind of rhythm made up of a lot of other parallel rhythms, within which soloisms are interwoven in a free, but just as rigorous, logic. This is the great trademark of a big band that isn’t a simple big band, but that of the Guildhall School Of Music & Drama, interdisciplinary breeding ground of talents, founded in London in 1880." (F. Scoppio)

SOUSAPHONIX

Music with a fiery, forceful character; eclectic and energizing, with hues of blues and tinges of reggae...

“Mauro Ottolini is a multi-instrumentalist and his music – rising from the brass he blows into – is multi-stylist. The use of a variable trombone and its mutes, the flashing slide trumpet and the full-bodied, but agile saxophone inspires Ottolini to create pieces that express his complex personality, the result of a personal history of sound that includes classical, operatic, popular, jazz and Afro-American music”. (Luigi Onori)

SOUSAPHONIX

THE SKY ABOVE BREDDOK

Trombonist Mauro Ottolini's diverse and multifaceted world completely unravels in this album; a maze of exciting and compelling sounds where, in the lucid madness of his band Sousaphonix, complete fulfilment is found.

"The Sky Above Braddock is a limbo, where one finds lost and forgotten souls. The music in this album was inspired by a short story I read about a borough of Pittsburgh, Braddock. It sweetly and subtly intoxicated my artistic vein... A thrilling provocation. " (M. Ottolini)
